I approached the owner of Babare Brothers Shellfish Farms a longtime friend of mine and my current employer to build him a new machine to aid in the process of cutting the raw material used to harvester clams and oysters. By working on the shellfish farm I was able to see how I could improve the design of the current machine to make the production of making shellfish bag faster. My motivation for this project was influence by the fact the I was building a machine what would serve a purpose and could save the company money by decreasing the time it took to make shellfish bags. Attached is a few photos of the current machine used at the shellfish farm.
